SUNSEEKER SOUNDINGS No.2
Revitalised by the first service halt of the day, Paul Bird has obviously put behind him the trials and tribulations of his journey down to Bournemouth yesterday – well, going to the wrong airport for his flight south didn’t help matters! – and, after setting FTD on SS7 Insignia Signs, has pushed Will Nicholls down into second place to actually lead Rallye Sunseeker himself.
An outright win for the Cumbrian would be the culmination of a very long wait – although he was absent from the event last year, he has led after the first leg on each of the four previous years but has, so far, been unable to translate that into an overall victory. Could 2009 be his year?…
There is still a lot of work to do as the difference between Bird & Nicholls is less than 4 seconds and there are still 30 miles of competition to be attempted before the finish in Bournemouth Square at 6.00pm this afternoon. Watch this space!…
