In spite of their clutch problems on the opening two stages of Rallye Sunseeker, Marcus Dodd/Andrew Bargery have moved into the lead of the event in their Hyundai Accent WRC and, after five stages have opened up a 10-second gap over the Peugeot Cosworth of Andy Burton/Shelley Rogerson. Stephen Moore/Tony McHugh (Ford Focus WRC) have moved up to 3 rd and Will Nicholls/Nick Broom (Subaru Impreza WRC) 4 th .David Bogie/Kevin Rae have put their Mitsubishi Lancer EVO9 into 5 th place to lead the race for Group N honours, with Nik Elsmore/Paul Wakeley's similar car just a handful of seconds behind. Two leading Group N Subaru Imprezas have already bitten the dust - Tristan Pye/Kirsty Riddick were forced to retire after hitting a tree and Roger Chilman/Andrew Sankey's rally is run following a fire on board their example.
Competitors are now heading for the first service of the day at the Elliotthire Canford Arena, having had a run through the stage at Somerley Park where a collection of MG Metro 6R4s are also on display.
