Rallye Sunseeker has linked-up with Dorset Farmers’ Markets to make the Motorfair at Somerley Park an even more attractive place for the whole family to enjoy the area’s most exciting sporting event.
In addition to the spectacle of watching top British and international rally drivers tackle the challenging special stages in the grounds of Somerley Park, near Ringwood, some of the county’s best local food will be on sale through Dorset Farmers’ Markets. Bread, cakes, jams and chutneys will be among the mouth-watering regional produce available. “I’m delighted that Dorset Farmers’ Markets will be at Somerley”, said Motorfair Manager, Annie Roden. “The rally brings tens of thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to Dorset, and this helps introduce them to the wonderful food available from a whole host of local producers.”
Motorfair has lots of other attractions to keep the whole family entertained. Between rally runs, visitors can admire the large display of Metro 6R4s which celebrate their 25th birthday at Motorfair and there will also be demonstrations of this iconic car. Other items of interest include the ever-popular and very exciting Pirelli Rally simulator, plus an opportunity to experience the real thing in a 200 horse-power Pirelli MG ZR rally car. Further displays include performance cars from a number of manufacturers and classic cars from a bygone motoring age. Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service will be demonstrating their skills and there are children’s fairground rides.
At just £25 per car, Motorfair at Somerley provides a good-value day out for the whole family. Car Parks (signposted from the A31 at Ringwood) will be open from 8.30am on Saturday 28th February, with the first special stage through the park beginning at 10.00am.
