Rallye Sunseeker is the opening round of the 2012 British Rally Championship, the
premier rally series in the UK.
The only round of the Championship in the South of England, this event forests in
Dorset & Hampshire as special stages. The focal point of the event, however, is
Somerley Park, where two 5.5-mile mixed-surfaced stages are run.
The home of Event Patron, the Lord Somerton, Somerley Park will have action on
the special stage all day. The BRC competitors (and the four associated events- up
to 100 competitors) will run mid-morning and mid-afternoon; between the runs,
there are various activities on the stage to entertain the 3000-plus spectators –
demonstrations of rally cars old and new, a short competition for specialist
vehicles, car club stands and exhibitors.
The facilities at Somerley are good, there is excellent adjacent parking, a strong
motoring blend of spectators, plenty of action all day and cost effective
hospitality opportunities.
